Keller's most distinctive message is that she is capable of accessing the world with the senses she possesses, even that she sees things that sighted and hearing individuals don't notice, such as the delicate nuances of touch and smell. It's a bit heavy prose wise but very skilled at times. ( ) The World I Live in is a collection of essays that all discuss the way Helen Keller viewed her world. One of the themes that she addressed in almost all of them was how her perceptions of the world are not inferior to other people's just because she couldn't see or hear. While I liked each of the essays individually, they just didn't work for me as a group, mainly because they were so repetitive. It's a very short book, but I probably should have read it a little at a time between other books to compensate for the repetitiveness. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

In the remarkable memoir The World I Live In, Keller offers a much more personal take on her situation, inviting readers inside her own personal experience. .No library descriptions found. |
