How Are You Peeling?: Foods with Moods af Saxton Freymann (sweetiegherkin)
sweetiegherkin: Very different art styles (cartoonish drawings versus photography), but both books are designed to get children thinking about the different kinds of emotions out there and naming them. The Feelings Book is a little more basic and thus better for younger audiences while How Are You Peeling? has more advanced vocabulary (and a greater depth of feelings exploration) so it's more appropriate for a slightly older audience.… (mere)

I think this is more of a "hey did you know you could feel this way" it focuses more of the down feelings than the happy up feelings. It doesn't give children ideas on how to fix their emotions or change them. It does encourage them to communicate with others about how it is they feel about something though. It gives them a way to spark up a meaningful conversation.

A silly book about different emotions and moods that will help children to identity emotions in themselves and possibly other children/people as well.

Todd Parr's bold, kid-friendly illustrations portray children expressing all different moods, from "I feel very mad" and "I feel like reading books all day" to "I feel like wearing funny underwear." This is a useful tool when a child is unable to control behavior. Looking through these illustrations helps a child name what s/he is feeling, and that naming process is usually calming and centering.

The book is very brightly illustrated. The author covers a bunch of different feelings that children can experience in life.Todd Parr sends out a message to not keep your feelings to yourself and to share them with someone you love. This book is great for Preschoolers and it can teach them about feelings.
