The characters are likeable and relatable, but the story itself is slow to develop, too slow for most readers. The author information at the end, while interesting to fans, is unrelated to the story, and so disappointing for her new readers. There are better options out there. This was a sad and yet powerful story. The cold and wet setting of Connecticut perfectly matched the dreary story line, and the character development was strong. I felt that the struggles all three teenagers went through were realistic and at times heart wrenching. I would probably recommend this book to students in 6th grade and up, maybe an advanced 5th grader. The book is definitely emotionally heavy but sadly I think there are a lot of kids out their who could relate to this story. Having taught American history for 5 years I also liked the American Revolution connections. Overall, I thought this was a great book. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
