A short verse for each month of the year encourages the reader to find objects hidden in the pictures that depict that month's activities, such as ear muffs and pine trees in January, or scooters and a picnic bench in June.

This seek-and-find book is full of things to look at and talk about as you journey through the changing year.

A book that can grow with your child! From talking about the pictures and finding objects, to them independently reading the items they are looking for, right through discussions about mythology and other calendar systems throughout history. This is a simple book that can be enjoyed for many years! ( )

Jump into January is a seek-and-find book that takes you through all of the seasons. It is used to connect the month of the year to the seasons, so the intended audience is 1st-3rd graders. It is a picture book that basically asks the students "what do you see?" and the very bottom is lists things in the pictures that the students can see. This is great book for a book share because you can cover up the list and have the students raise their hand and tell you what they see in the picture, while it also is educating them on the different seasons. There are many activities that can go along with this book, such as having the students write about their favorite season, or write about the things that they see in the classroom.

This book can be used to connect seasons to the months of the year. It is also a great book to get children to read and look for details. ( )
