Kill or Be Killed, by Robert Scott (read 15 July 2007) This book tells of the murder of Carole Garton in Redding, California, on May 16, 1998, and of the trial of her husband, Todd Garton, who did not kill her but conspired to have her killed. It is a most unusual case, and the story of the trial is well told. The prosecuting attorney, Greg Gaul, did a good job in the trial and this book, after the scene is set at length in the first part of the book, is really fascinating from the time of the murder till the conclusion of the book.
