Tonight on the Titanic (Magic Tree House, No. 17)

When I was in second grade I collected and read all of the books in this series! Now that I have revisited this book I am reminded of the power and emotion behind these books. Each one builds a sense of empathy that children need to be good humans. But also gives them adventure and magic that keeps them engaged.

The magic tree house transports Jack and Annie to the deck of the "Titanic" to find a mysterious gift that will free their puppy from a terrible magic spell. Book #17

The Magic Tree House series revolve around siblings Jack and Annie traveling in time to go on adventures from their tree house. During this particular book, Jack and Annie find themselves aboard the Titanic on the night it is supposed to sink. The two must find a way back to their tree house before the ship goes down, while helping passengers aboard the ship in real time. These books are a great read for students beginning to read chapter books because they add historical aspects to the adventures that Jack and Annie partake in. ( )

Summary: Siblings Jack and Annie find a spell-struck whimpering dog, Teddy, in their magical tree house one night. In order to save the dog, they must obtain objects from entering and reading stories from the past. The first object comes from entering the story of the Titanic, in which they receive a hand-watch from two children they saved who were stuck on the drawing ship.
