The author shared lots of interesting facts and thoughts about her famous parents’ lives. However, I am left frustrated in knowing all that she certainly left out. She wrote this as a scientist and/or anthropologist would, not clearly and openly sharing her feelings about them. So, the reader is left guessing about many issues. ( ) No other book about the legendary anthropologists Margaret Mead and Gregory Bateson matches the depth and intimacy of this memoir by their daughter. An anthropologist herself, Ms. Bateson recounts her progressive childhood; reveals for the first time her mother’s lifelong love for her mentor, Ruth Benedict; and sheds new light on her parents’ ground-breaking research. With A Daughter’s Eye is the candid, deeply moving story of an extraordinary family by the only person who could have written it. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
