This book is all about an old lady who swallowed a fly. She then continues to swallow a whole bunch of other animals to catch that animal. This is a cool interaction book with the holes in it to help foreshadow what animal is going to be swallowed next. The absurd illustrations match the words perfectly for the book. ( )

I'm pretty sure this is the book version I read as a kid, although nothing beats the Burl Ives version. It was such an appealing tale as a child.

This is a good book to do activities with and to teach children memorization. ( )

This book to me is so funny, I read it as a kid and there is so many different activities you could do with your students. It is a fun book that will keep students interested in what comes next. It also can help you with tryin to teach your child memorization when you get to the end ( )

I find the book amusing because it includes things that regular people do not swallow like a cat and the fly of course. To evaluate, it may only be useful as a read a loud because of how the book had constant words repeating itself as the old lady's stomach got bigger, swallowing various things. The book is about an old lady who swallows items; she does not know why she swallowed the fly, yet she knows the reasons for the rest of them. For children, they may get a laugh from it because of the fact that they do not observe anyone eating animals alive. The central message of the book is never swallow a horse, ( )
