Every person's freedom to do what he pleases is drastically limited by his finitude, his sin, and the circumstances of life that are beyond his control. So freedom is relative. When we speak of freedom or liberty we should always define it, qualify it: what sort of freedom? Freedom from what? McQuilkin's motive for writing the book is admirable; he wrote to support himself and his wife during her terminal illness. However, McQuilkin's method for establishing a working ethic is faulty. Used in conjunction with the works of others, this volume gives a different perspective on Christian Ethics. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
McQuilkin encourages Christians and nonChristians alike to avoid the trap of seeing the Bible as dry history or "nice words." God's Word should be the driving force behind morality. No library descriptions found. |
