I'm very happy I listened to this series, Martin Freeman was absolutely fantastic. This might be the worst book of the series, but I enjoyed it very much anyway! ( )

Si può definire malinconico e nostalgico un romanzo che ti ha fatto ridere a crepapelle? Non saprei, ma Praticamente innocuo mi ha dato proprio questa impressione, un po’ per le avventure dei protagonisti e un po’ perché questo è l’ultimo libro della serie scritto interamente da Douglas, visto che, a causa della prematura morte dell’autore, del sesto si è occupato Eoin Colfer.

Certo, Ford Prefect ci garantisce ancora grasse risate: la scena di lui che si introduce nella redazione della Guida e modifica un robot affinché sia sempre felice è superba. Tuttavia, anche Prefect non può fare a meno di rivangare i vecchi tempi felici nei quali nella redazione di davano allegri calci a una palla nei corridoi e si indossavano tenute da spiaggia sconvenientemente colorate.

Abbiamo anche a che fare con Tricia, una Trillian in una dimensione dove ha perso l’occasione di partire con Zaphod e adesso di strugge per qualcosa che nemmeno lei sa bene cosa sia. Pure Arthur Dent non se la passa benissimo, intristito dalla perdita del pianeta sul quale era nato e da quella della sua amata.

Il finale mi ha lasciato una gran voglia di leggere anche E un’altra cosa... perché, dai, non può finire in maniera così malinconica dopo tutte le avventure passate... ( )

This book lacks the lightness and zaniness of the previous Hitchhiker books. I basically read it because I wanted to see how the whole thing ended, and now I know. Probably should have stopped at "So Long and Thanks for All the Fish". ( )
