A book about all aspects of color, from visible light and the effects of mixing different lights, to painting with colored pigments, to the words we use to describe colors. Some chapters are long with many details while others are much more brief. I learned at least two interesting things while reading this work: one, the reason kittens' eyes start off blue and turn green or gold as the cat matures (page 91), and two, why surgeons typically wear blue-green colored scrubs (page 139).
