Can prayer really change God's mind? Doesn't God already know what is going to happen? And hasn't he already decided what he intends to do? These are the questions best-selling author Brother Andrew explores in this thought-provoking book on a dramatically different kind of prayer. He shows readers how to differentiate between personal and intercessory prayer, how to listen and talk to God, and how to respond when God says no. Using illustrations from Scripture, as well as deep insight and practical advice, Brother Andrew shows convincingly that God has at times indeed changed his mind, solely because of the prayers of his people. As the other reviews have said Brother Andrew is unorthodox, thank goodness for that unorthodoxy. This book is an excellent source book for anyone who admits to themselves that their prayer-life is less than unfulfilling. Based on the belief that to be effective in prayer one needs to know God and God's will Brother Andrew directs and challenges the reader with concrete advise and illustration. Originally published as "God Changed His Mind" the author illustrates that our prayer-life is can move from "fatalism" to praying as He intended for us approach Him. ( )

Brother Andrew's unorthodox views are interesting, and tended to strengthen beliefs in the opposite of what he was suggesting in me. ( )
