En OK lille gavtyvehistorie og det er så det... Bortset fra at den er skrevet i et sprog som både er en fornøjelse og noget af en pine at læse. Rekorden er én sætning på 3/4 side med indskudte sætninger inde i indskudte sætninger inde i indskudte sætninger men i ekstremt velformuleret, morsomt og formfuldendt sprog - og temmelig anstrengende for fremdriften i bogen. Men god afveksling at læse om nogle gode slagsmål mellem arketypiske helte og fjender i Kaukasus i 900-tallet... ( )
Chabons litterære genre-roman er underholdende og velskrevet. Men den når ikke samme højder som Kavalier & Clay, fx., fordi projektet ikke er lige så påtrængende og nødvendigt.Men den er værd at læse. ( )
