This is probably the least satisfying, and most strange of this four volume diversion from Thieves' World. It's necessary, since it builds up to Storm Seed, and there is some ground laid that won't make sense if you don't read this one. If you're just coming to this book, without having read any of the predecessors, you will find it distinctly unsatisfying. I recommend starting with at least a few of the beginning novels, and for this to make sense, you need to read both Tempus and City at the Edge of Time. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

This is a sequel to the Thieves’ World stories and novels featuring Tempus, the Riddler, as one major character, and relocating him in time and space, for another battle against the evil wizards. He is without his “Sacred Band”, so there is less banter and humour, but there is humour from descriptions of modern/future technology as experienced by Tempus to partially compensate. ( )
