It's Snowing! by Olivier Dunrea is a children's book about a baby's 1st time seeing snow. Mama wakes up her baby when she notices the first snow is falling this winter. Baby has never seen snow yet, so Mama bundles baby up and they head out into the snow. They play, laugh, ride a sled and a bear. Baby had a blast for its 1st time seeing snow. The baby falls asleep back home by the warm fire.

This book was really cute and simple with words and repetition that was easy to understand. This would be a good book to read to kindergarten. The author has some other books that are winter. The theme in this book is about the love the mother has for her child. She rocks her baby and plays with her baby. ( )

Although this book is very cute and can get students excited for the winter, I do not see the point. To me there is no real message within the story. It just seems like the mother and baby are bored and cold and then go play in the snow, but eventually go back inside. Where they are once again, bored and cold. ( )

This book is about the excitement of the mother showing her child snow for the first time. The book starts off on a cold, dark night as the mom takes care of the baby as he sleeps. The mom is so excited when she see's it has begun to snow that she wakes up the baby with joy in his first snowfall. They go explore the snow. The mother sings to her baby telling him to see, smell, taste, hear, and touch the snow. This book is showing you the love this mother has for her child and how she wants to give him an amazing experience with the snow. After they have enjoyed the snow they go back home and rest in that cold, dark, snowy night. This is a tale of a mama and her beloved baby. Gently rocking the baby in a cradle before the fireplace, mama discovers snow is falling.

Swaddling baby in fur, she trundles outside. As a winter wonderland unfolds, mama shows the beauty to baby as she sings and baby sings along.

No doubt that mama loves baby and wants to embrace this magical time together.

While not long in pages, it is warm and glowing and beautiful in content. ( )
