This will certainly be of interest to many but as a graphic novel it's not that great. It definitely has the feel of a short story turned into a full length graphic novel. Natasha Donovan has done a good job with the illustrations but can't compensate for the need to expand so little material into 175 pages. A boy and his mother set out on a road trip from Canada to visit his sister living in Salt Lake City. At the American checkpoint, the mother is asked her citizenship. She replies, "Blackfoot." Thus begins a couple days of limbo as they shuttle back and forth the hundred yards between the U.S. and Canada border stations, and each time she proclaims her citizenship as Blackfoot. Eventually their circumstance draws the attention of the media. Originally a short story published in 1993, the spare prose pairs well with the flow of the graphics. Thoughtful readers will ponder the meaning and essence of borders and who gets to decide why and where they lie ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
