Maybe I've read too many in this series, but this one never grabbed me. I think it's time for Kate to pull up her big-girl panties GROW UP. How can such an emotionally reactive person possibly hold a responsible job like Chief of Police? And she constantly gets herself into ridiculous and dangerous situations through her own lack of reasoning and forethought. (Sometimes I felt like I was reading a Stephanie Plum book.) Tomasetti isn't a whole lot better -- he consistently overreacts and separates himself from the issues at hand. Won't go into specifics to avoid spoilers, but these characters really got on my nerves this time.
