Still dark and brutal. ( )

I can't even say how awesome it is when Ker Dukey and K Webster get together and write a book. Their characters are amazing. The stories are compelling. And I always get drug along for the ride. I can't stop it. I don't want to stop it. I just sit there and hold on to my Kindle so that I can get to the end.

Veniamin has taken in Diana since her ex-fiance Vlad threw her out. Ven has always wanted Diana, but their fathers never thought to arrange a marriage between the two of them, and as part of the Russian mob's First Families, you just don't run away and marry who you want. But now, Diana and Ven have a chance and they can be together. Sort of. Maybe. If his father doesn't get in the way and if Vika doesn't say anything and if secrets don't show up. Of course, it wouldn't be a Webster/Dukey book if it was that easy.

When I read Vlad's story, there were things that happened in that book that I wanted to know more about, which meant I was just waiting and waiting and waiting for Ven's story so that I could find out everything that was going on. I thought that I might just explode waiting. But, the waiting was so well-rewarded. I'm so glad that my wait was over because all the questions I had left over from the first book were answered in this one, while there are now new things that are wandering around in my head, and that I'll have to wait for the next book to answer.

These two ladies are excellent on their own, but put them together, and you get so much more. ( )

In typical fashion, these two authors continue to push the envelope with their latest collaborative effort. You want to push your limits on what is the book equivalent to The movie Hostel with a few tweaks? Then look no further. Good lord. I wanted to look away but I couldn't. I was hooked. I'm need the conclusion as soon as possible. Trigger warning galore. ( )
