Winston and Ash grow closer together just as various outside forces seek to drive them apart. Between Lucian Morelli, the Terror Triplets, and her stepmother, Prince Charming is a tale of intrigue, revenge, secrets and love. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the finale in April 2021. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

"Winston Constantine is no prince charming... I crave him so badly I think I might be losing my mind. He's right in front of me, but he's just as remote as my dreams of getting away from my stepbrothers. I keep playing his twisted games, and I want to stay just as distant as he is. But I can't. I never could. I've fallen for him. Hopelessly. Irrevocably. But Winston isn't a lover, he's a business venture. A way for me to pay for college. A ticket out. He's never pretended to be anything other than that. I can't blame him for making me fall in love. There can be no happily ever after between a maid and a prince, no matter what the stories say."--Back cover. No library descriptions found. |

I was in the minority with how I felt after the first book of this trilogy. I enjoyed it but it didn't resonate with me the way that it did with other people. However, it did pique my interest and made me want to continue the series because this author had created a unique interpretation of Cinderella. I am glad I continued with the series because this book was much better than it's predecessor. It was an engaging story that built on the earlier foundation while building up to a whopper of a cliffhanger that will be resolved in the final installment. I appreciate that the author is taking a sweet fairytale that is beloved and wholesome and twisting it into something so decadently naughty. It is debauchery at its finest.
In the previous book, I struggled with the maturity of Ash, especially in the interactions between her and Winston. In this book, she seemed less immature and didn't make me roll my eyes as much. Winston, in all his douchey ways, seemed more palatable this time, and actually came across as a bit more human instead of just an entitled elitist. I liked seeing him balance both sides of his nature.
The storyline was more engaging and I liked seeing more of the other characters. I look forward to where the author is taking this in the future and how she intends to make this story have its own version of happily ever after. It should be good because there is a reason that this author is known as one of the best. ( )
