I found this book to be great. It is a real life situation that could happen to any tree. Even though it is almost a picture book, I found it to be a good book. Children can relate to it. ( )

A beautiful tree that has been a part of a family's life is dying because someone dumped toxins into the soil. Girl plants acorns collected from the tree nearby with hopes that a new tree will grow to replace it.

This is a great book about a tree that has been there for many years and suddenly the tree has been poisoned. The family gets a tree doctor and says the tree looks like it is not going to make it. Alice remembers she took acorns from the tree so she gathers them and plants them and grows a new tree for the next generations to enjoy.

It tells us the story of a very special tree. It is loved by many people. They enjoyed sitting in the shade it made with its long branches and many leaves. It promotes togetherness. Students would enjoy this book.
