( ) Dwarves and a hobbit continue their journey. Three hours long and feels like six. The first Hobbit movie had one good sequence - this one has two (the spiders, and Bilbo's first encounter with Smaug - not coincidentally both taken from the book). So, I guess that's an improvement, although nothing here is nearly as good as the Gollum sequence in the first movie. The really frustrating thing about all of this is that there is clearly a great 2-hour movie buried in this 9-hour trilogy.
