Hone is absolutely amazing when it comes to ferreting out customs and habits of medieval and Tudor drama, including all the Guild dramas and ceremonies that were performed before Henry viii and the Protestant reformation. Many of these dramas were based on stories that first appear in the apocryphal New Testament.
Hone later published “Lost Books of the Bible” which is still in print today. ( )
