I’ve been looking forward to another story set in the Briar Rose, a “BDSM Bed & Breakfast” run by sub Adam and his Master Matt. This time they have quite a complicated “case” to deal with: two couples who would like to become a foursome without ruining what they already have in terms of their love and their friendship. The four men have a pretty good idea about what they like and what they wish for as an outcome, but they need a little help and guidance to get there. It is quite a challenge but Adam and Matt are willing to give it a go.

With four men who have been in 24/7 relationships for a while, but where the subs are also old friends who have been intimate, the dynamics are complicated. Add to that the fact that each sub has very different needs, and that the two Masters are friends, but not intimately acquainted, and you have a potentially explosive situation. Not surprisingly the subs are the ones asking for more, still missing what they once had but couldn’t maintain on their own. But the fact is that both Masters are definitely interested once the option is on the table. Wanting it and making it work without hurting anyone are two different things though.

Max and Swan have a very loving, but very strict relationship. The rules are strict and numerous, and Max thrives under these conditions. Peter and Devon also have a very loving relationship, but there are few rules, and most are flexible, because Peter knows what he needs and is not afraid to ask for it. Subs Max and Peter want to be able to make love again, and Doms Swan and Devon need to discover how to make this work for each other. Each of the Doms also needs to learn the other sub’s rules, and vice versa. Luckily all four men are already close enough that much of the “discussion” takes places in bed and is as playful as it is hot.

If you like reading about special relationships merging into even more unusual family situations, if you're into foursomes experimenting with turning themselves into a permanent family, and if you're looking for a kinky D/s story with lots of love, teasing, and interesting discussions about how things should work, then you will probably like this novella. I certainly did and look forward to the next one in this fun series.
