"Book 7 of the bestselling Love Comes Softly series. Belinda Davis had trained as a nurse to assist her older brother, Doctor Luke. But as time goes by and she sees those she's grown up with getting married and settling into their own lives, Belinda becomes restless. What had seemed exciting and fresh becomes dull and routine. When she meets an elderly woman who needs nursing care, Belinda jumps at the invitation to go to Boston--a large, "civilized" city with cultural opportunities she's never even dreamed of in her little prairie town. But in spite of financial security and countless new experiences, Belinda finds herself restless, lonely, and empty inside."

A sequel to Love's Unfolding Dream. Belinda leaves the prairie town to go to Boston. In spite of her new experiences, she finds herself restless and lonely. In stretching her wings, did she leave more behind than her home and family?

Seventh in the 'love comes softly' series; light American Christian historical fiction for teens and adults. It's a direct sequel to 'Love's Unfolding Dream', in which Belinda starts her introduction to nursing, and gets to know her niece Melissa, who is about her age.

In this book, set a couple of years later, Belinda is established as practise nurse at her brother Luke's surgery, and Melissa returns briefly to the family after training as a teacher, before returning to the West. Two young men start to show an interest in Belinda, and she has to make some difficult decisions.

I'm enjoying reading the continuation of this series which I first came across many years ago. It's not at all deep, and each book is fairly short; but the characters are realistic, so much so that I feel almost as if I know them; and there are some quite moving sections. I'm going to continue straight on to the last in the series after this, eager to know what happens to Belinda! ( )
