Nice, nice, nice. I like books with werewolves and romance and some new history. This is about Sonya who works in a bar and wants to study psychology. One night Raul walks in the bar. Like she says, she has a monumental taste for bad men. She starts dating him, which is fun because he's a outdoor type like her. One thing she doesn't know: he is a werewolf. She's in for a surprise, which I'm not going to tell here. Read it yourself. It's short, only 85 pages, and has a big cliffhanger. Lucky for me, I have part 2 also. This one is nice to read and makes curious about the next books.
Disclaimer: I got this book in the Librarything Early Reviewers. ( )

I am not the hugest fan of romance, but I did think this book was ok. It felt like the romance was a bit too fast for me, but I did like the paranormal elements. Overall, I would recommend to fans of paranormal romance. ( )

Clawed & Cornered is suspenseful, mysterious, and just the right amount of romantic. This book was a quick read, but I really enjoyed it. I loved the inclusion of having a character that was part indigenous and was also familiar with a less popular religion. The characters were well rounded and I loved watching the way they interacted with each other.
I only have two grievances: 1. both Sonya and Raul must be only trying to date mean people because they are both convinced that traits that make them more interesting will drive away other people, and 2. I wish it were longer. I will definitely be reading the new book in the series soon. ( )

Clawed & Cornered by Heather McCorkle is the beginning of a series. The description that was given for the Early Reviewers must have been from the second book because I kept waiting for those events to happen. This book ended on a somewhat cliffhanger. I just couldn't get into it. The author was more tell than show. The characters were not well developed, and rather cliched. Even with a cliffhanger ending, I don't care to go on to the next book. It was hard enough getting through the first one. Some game apps have a more compelling story. ( )

This started off boy-meets-girl and a slow attraction develops. It went back and forth in the he-said, she-said manner. Sonya meets Raul and it seems to be going well, until it doesn't, and Raul does something to really throw the relationship off track. And then it ends and is supposed to be continued in Book 2 - Bitten and Beholden. I really enjoy reading about all different sorts of shape shifters and paranormal but this seemed just really short, incomplete and then hinted at the preview provided that a new character would be brought in for a relationship. I'm not sure I'm interested in following. ( )
