This book gave me so many feelings. I was so upset when I was done, I almost threw it in the fire. Then I remembered it was a library book, checked out on someone else's card. This book could give you unrealistically high expectations of a "good death." Just remember, it's perfectly natural to be afraid or in pain or not ready; not everyone is going to have an experience like this amazing person did. ( )

Ed. Almora, 2011. 500 p.

Treya was lovely. Ken, insufferable. ( )

This is a deep love story of the author and his new wife battling cancer, understanding life’s meaning and finally death from the world-renowned philosopher and psychologist.

The incredible story of Ken Wilber's first wife and her struggle with cancer. Ken Wilber is an innovative philosopher and long-time meditator, and he weaves many fascinating ideas into the narrative. The story is very sad, but an inspiring example of how meditation and other practices can help us remain "well" even when the body is dying. Also, a critical examination of the New Age trope that illness is "caused" by emotional or mental patterns. Recommended for anyone dealing with chronic disease. ( )

When Treya and I first met, we had the strangest feeling that we had been looking for each other for lifetimes, but I don't know if that is literally true.
