I enjoyed reading this book, even though I struggled with some of the content a little bit. I don’t like people getting badly hurt—but that comes with the territory in this book! John Cross is a very lovable character, and though Christine features more in this story, I did enjoy seeing his spiritual growth in here some. The story itself is quite interesting—as in the previous book, there is a great mystery in here that they’re trying to solve while also trying to stay alive. I enjoyed the journey, and loved getting to see the probable (or not!) implications of people trying to rip off the government. The way things were set up in this story was quite complex, and I enjoyed exploring the places the author took us to. The writing style was very engaging, and the characters quite believable. I can’t say that anything struck me as particularly great about this novel, but if you’re looking for an exciting ride that’s got Christian elements to it, I’d recommend this one. I requested a free review copy of this book, and this is my honest opinion of it. Warning! This book is filled with nail-biting action and pulse-altering situations. Proceed with caution! This is the first book that I've read by Andrew Huff and Cross Shadow has made me a believer! It didn't take long for the action to begin as reporter Christine Lewis realizes that she is on a subway with a suicide bomber. There are many more thrills that involve Christine and John Cross, her 'ex-CIA agent turned minister' boyfriend, as John steps in to help her prove that her step-brother is innocent of murder charges. Suddenly, as their hunt continues, it becomes evident that they are in extreme danger and that our nation's security is also at risk. You will certainly want to read Cross Shadow if you enjoy intense adventure, conspiracy theories, treacherous villains, and a God-fearing hero. I recommend it to all who enjoy Christian suspense novels. I received a copy of this book from Kregel Publications and Read with Audra Publicity Tours. There was no obligation for a favorable review. All opinions are my own. A thrilling sequel to A Cross to Kill, Cross Shadow proves to be just as addicting to read. Life has not been a simple happily-ever-after for ex-CIA assassin turned small-town pastor John Cross and journalist Christine Lewis since the events of the previous book, sparking questions of the practicality of their relationship. Of course, to complicate matters, the pair quickly becomes pulled into another dangerous scenario, and their story takes off from there. Once again, Andrew Huff composes his Shepherd Suspense novel well. Cross Shadow is action-packed, fast-paced suspense that kept me on my toes, but that suspense blends well with questions of faith and romance, making for a well-rounded, interesting read. I received a complimentary copy of this book and the opportunity to provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own. The suspense and drama continue in Andrew Huff's newest novel, "Cross Shadow." Reporter Christine Lewis is asked to check into the arrest of her stepbrother in Texas for murder but to her surprise and indignation John Cross has followed her to Dallas. What follows is a cat and mouse game to find out why Christine's stepbrother is being framed for murder while being shot at and chased. Not only does this story explore more of the relationship between Christine and John; it explores John's life as a pastor and a former CIA agent and his relationship with God. Can he live with a foot in both worlds? How can he reconcile lying to find the truth? This is a fast paced read with endearing characters. I am secretly rooting for Christine and John to discover how to make their relationship work as the reader is left wondering at the end of the book. So I am anxiously looking forward to the third installment. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

HTML:All journalist Christine Lewis wants is the truth. All pastor John Cross wants is to avoid it. Former CIA agent turned evangelical pastor John Cross is busy caring for the small community of believers he ministers to in Virginia. Journalist Christine Lewis is busy with the demand for her talents from top news agencies in New York City. Neither has any time left for their relationship, which began eight months before when they paired up to prevent the detonation of a chemical bomb in the nation's capital. But when Christine hears that her stepbrother has been arrested for murder in Texas, they team up again to discover the truth about the crime. Untangling a web of conspiracy, the couple finds themselves in the center of another dangerous situation-and in trouble far deeper than they expected. With an assassin on the loose, a trusted colleague acting as a double agent, and unreliable artificial intelligence connected to mercenaries who have Cross on their hit list, these two may not get out of the Lone Star State alive. I loved seeing Christine and her side of the story … Without giving spoilers, I just loved how she grew since the first book. ( )
