A cute and quirky little graphic novel. On the one hand, I liked how oddball and off the wall a lot of the situations were. On the other hand, there were some unexpected inconsistencies, like the fact that Lillian first declares she cannot love Imhotep and later says he's the love of her life. I feel like there could have been just a little more elaboration on the ties that bind Imhotep and Lillian together across the centuries, as well as some hint that there might be more than a mummy under the wrappings. Still, the watercolor (?) art is as dreamy and whimsical as the story.

(I think I did my first read in June, but since I always read graphic novels twice, I'm not going to worry about figuring out to sets of Dates read.) ( )

I would give this a 3.5, I think. The artwork was beautiful, and the story whimsical and a little crazy. A quick, fun read. ( )

Real weird. Kind of entranced me. But also real confusing and...weird. ( )

Beautiful artwork though the story jumps a bit sporadically. It has a sophisticated, quirky feel about it, and Imhotep's father couldn't have given a single care. He was also the highlight of the story if you ask me. ( )

Eh. The artwork was quirky and interesting; but I didn't really care for the story. ( )

I admired the parallels the authors drew between the two main characters; even though some of the revelations were ludicrous, the magical atmosphere they created had me fully playing along. There’s a little something in this book for everyone.
