"Katten og musen" handler om en kat og en mus, der bor sammen, men først snyder katten musen og til sidst æder den musen. Sådan er verdens gang.

Den snorker dog så højt at en jæger hører det og skærer maven op på ulven, så både Rødhætte og bedstemoderen kan komme ud og komme til hægterne igen. Rødhætte lægger nogle store sten og putter dem ind i maven på ulven. Og da den vågnede og ville løbe sin vej, faldt den om og var død med det samme. Jægeren tager skindet og går hjem med det. Bedstemor spiser kager og drikker vin.
