If you were a clownfish, swimming languidly and contentedly amongst the anemones on a coral reef, you would assume that the charming ecosystem you inhabit is the entire universe. But suppose a diver with a net appears and lifts you out of the sea. You see creatures you've never seen before. You see boats and a coastline and the sky above. Suddenly it dawns on you that your world is just a small part of a much larger and weirder macrocosm than you could have ever imagined in your wildest dreams. And what if there is a universe in which clownfish are keen on tennis and frequently speak in rhyme? And what if this isn't a hypothetical question?… (mere)

the use of poems to explain something as big as the multiverse is unbelievable. Writing is exquisite. The poems are written with such creation. ( )

I always get excited when I receive a copy of a poetry book because they seem to be few and far between these days. I had a good laugh as I read this book. Some of the poems really made me stop and think about things, while others made me hysterical. This was a quick read, but I enjoyed the entire ride. I read that the author has a few more books, so I hope to check them out soon. Hopefully, they are just as funny. ( )

I received this book as a gift for an honest review on LibraryThing.

This book is so fun and entertaining. I truly enjoyed it. I love the writer’s sense of humor and how he wrote explanations for many of his poems. From one page, you’ll be giggling and then feel a little jab in the heart on the next page as the author shows you pieces of himself and his life. There’s his love for science, space, physics and our planet. His interest in tennis. Some poetry that hints at loss and pain. You see glimpses of how he cares for his friends. There’s also a few poems that deal with the Covid pandemic that we have all been contending with. A few honest words on society. There’s also little cartoons and photos scattered throughout the book. I was never bored reading this and each page was a new surprise. David seems like someone that would a blast to hang out with and have a conversation. I highly recommend the book. Thank you for the opportunity to read it! ( )

This book was fun and inspiring. I would recommend, for sure. Its a lovely collection that incorporates some of the best moments, at least for me. Lots of selections reminded me of my own memories or made me things deeper about something I had never given much thought before. Really good, keep it up. ( )
