Christmas Cupcake Murder A Hannah Swensen Mystery with Recipes! by Joanne Fluke
Starts out with Hannah and she's busy with the holidays, trying to help others who give a lot to the community.
She is also helping her mother with her antiques and trying to help Carrie also... The real estate agent Al has led them to a business that is no longer running and they check it out to only find a body under the tarps.
Hannah remembers the man from his visit to the shop in the morning and he was very polite and they rush him to the hospital and he recovers....
the people in the village all come together and try to find out where Joe belongs. Love the clues leading up to where that is with help from an ingredient in a recipe.
Lots of recipes are included. Listing of author's works are highlighted at the beginning of the book, index of recipes at the end and conversion charts at the end.
I received this review copy from Kensington Books via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion

This Christmas installment of the Hannah Swensen series goes back in time to when Tracy is a baby and before Hannah's mother Delores marries Doc Knight. I wasn't sure why, but maybe the author wanted to rekindle the love triangle once again or explain some of the backstory for Delores.

This story is about a homeless man with amnesia that Hannah befriends and her efforts to find out who he is.

As usual light-hearted with delicious sounding recipes! ( )

Just before Christmas, Hannah Swenson helps a man obviously down on his luck and looking for work. She gives him something to eat and vows to find him some work but just a short while later, he is found, suffering from the cold and with amnesia. While he is recovering, Hannah and her mother and sisters determine to discover who he is.

Christmas Cupcake Murder, the latest Christmas cozy by Joanne Fluke seems somewhat misnamed. There is no dead bodies, murdered or otherwise, for Hannah to stumble upon. There is also little time here devoted to the mystery although, in fairness, it is one that seems a fitting story for the season. What there is is a lot of time devoted to the Christmas side of the title including a whole lot of recipes between chapters, some of which, in a different year, I would love to try out.

Overall, though, I enjoyed Christmas Cupcake Murder quite a bit and would recommend it for anyone looking for a sweet (in more ways than one) Christmas cozy.

Thanks to Netgalley and Kensington Books the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review ( )

I get really excited when the annual Christmas Hannah Swenson story comes out....or a new book in the series! I have been visiting Hannah & the crew in Lake Eden, MN since the first book in this series was published in 2000! While not the first culinary cozy series, this one is definitely my favorite....and one of the first!

A couple of the most recent books in the series were disappointing (changes in writing quality, bizarre plot choices....things just seemed off), but I am happy to say that things in Lake Eden appear to be coming back to their usual feel and quality. Although certain side plots (long time fans of this series know which side plot I am referring to) still has yet to be resolved. Hannah will make a decision someday. I hope....it's been 20 years...get on with it already, Hannah! lol And none of that stupid R-like stuff again!

This story is sweet and fun to read! Hannah bakes holiday cookies and cupcakes....and the gang discovers a homeless man who has lost his memory and needs help. So, while Hannah does not find a dead body laying about this time, there is still an enjoyable mystery. Who is Joe? And why can't he remember who he is or how he came to Lake Eden?

This story is the usual Christmas holiday filler story.....Joanne Fluke publishes a Christmas Hannah story each year. It's a shorter read than the novels in this series, but a very enjoyable holiday treat! The recipes included between chapters are varied.....everything from colorful pickles to cherry frosted cupcakes! Mmmmmmmm! And the recipes include cute little comments from Hannah and the gang.

I was VERY happy to see that the next novel -- Triple Chocolate Cheesecake Murder -- is coming out in February 2021!!!! (I think I gained 3 lbs just reading the title though!) I wonder if The Decision will be made? or hinted at? Or discussed? Or.....anything???? I have a few months to ponder on that.....

**I voluntarily read a review copy of this book from Kensington. All opinions expressed are entirely my own. Even this one: Hannah, make up your mind already!** ( )

These books aren't, and don't pretend to be serious literature. Pleasurable mysteries for easy reading.
In this story Hannah befriends a man down on his luck. It ends up he has amnesia and almost freezes to death. While he is in the hospital recovering, Hannah, her mother and sisters vow to find out who he is, and what's the story behind his amnesia. When not sleuthing, Hannah is baking her usual assortment of cookies and cupcakes, trying to keep up with the holiday rush. The recipes, though long winded, all sound good, the characters are nice, and in the end good prevails over evil. Who doesn't need a read like this to escape for a while. ( )
