* I got this book for review from the publisher*

I am so happy I finally picked up this book. I got this book so long ago. This is timetravel focused middle grade. I l also liked how the time travel elements where based around history and also fixing the problems in history. It reminded me a little bit from world between blinks. I also like the enemy to friends element. It was a really cute read and woul love to get more books set in this world! ( )

Regan and Elliot are students at the Academy where they have been identified as having a genetic glitch, the ability to travel through time. Their group is dedicated to protecting history against a group called Mayhem. Regan and Elliot are sworn rivals. When they get a cocoon, a note from the future. They don't know how to handle it but begrudgingly discover they need to work together. The book dives into historical events. The book is action packed, with clever characters who grow to appreciate each other's gifts, and has some insight about historical events. ( )

So much fun! And sure to appeal to readers of all ages. Time traveling books can be hit or miss, but this one really sucked me in from the beginning with decent world building and flawed but likable characters who grow and learn about each other and themselves throughout the book. Minor criticisms include an extremely one- dimensional villain, Reagan and Elliot's chapters were indistinguishable from each other (and their "voices" were much older than their 12 years), and the adults in the book seemed pretty useless (not terribly uncommon in middle-grade/ YA). These did not stop me from enjoying the book, and I will be reading the next book if the series continues. ( )
