This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. received from LT Early Reviewers in exchange for honest review.Sweet open book about embracing our differences and receiving help from others This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. Such a sweet story about a butterfly whose wings are "wispy and weak." Friends come together to fashion new wings for Binkle who can then fly. It also shows Binkle dealing with being different. The author wrote the book for "children who come into the world with conditions that make their lives more challenging." Her own daughter has epidermolysis bullosa (EB) which is a painful skin condition with no cure yet. What a special story for her daughter. The illustrations are created in colorful pastel palette that works well. Binkle's rosy cheeks make him endearing. I received this copy in an Early Reviewers Giveaway in LibraryThing. My four year-old son thought it was "nice" but hasn't asked for it again. This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers. A very colorful picture book about friendship and accepting your uniqueness. Poor Binkle has been dreaming since caterpillar-hood about being able to fly when he grows up to butterfly-hood. Unfortunately, he comes out of his cocoon with gossamer wings that are unable to hold his weight. Others laugh at him, but all hope is not lost because he has two amazing friends that figure out a way to help him achieve his dreams and accept himself. The art is adorable! I love all the bright colors and how the artist utilized shapes and washes for shadows and depth. You're eyes are never bored looking at these pictures! This was a very uplifting read. I enjoyed it a lot. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
