I thoroughly enjoyed the second instalment in Black’s Bandits. Lots of action, romance and spy shenanigans.

Black Tie begins 20 years in the past, giving the reader insight into why this story is so personal for Brett. The action packed story takes us all over Europe from Venice, where Brett first encounters Tallie, to the Bavarian mountains as they go on the run from the bad guys that BDI is trying to take down.

Despite traumatic events, Tallie finds herself opening up to Brett and while he does try to keep her at arms length and his feelings out of it, he starts falling for her. I liked these two together. They’re both dealing with things from their past and they help each other be the best versions of themselves (super corny I know), but I love when characters grow into themselves.

Black Tie deals with human trafficking and I think Harris did a well with writing about it. She treated the subject sensitively and hopefully this brings awareness to something that people are experiencing right now. Red Cross has resources that people can access if they believe someone is being trafficked or they themselves are a victim of human trafficking.

This sets up Colt and Angie’s book, which I’m looking forward to and more insight into Ian - I got my theories and I can’t wait to see what happens with him. While the book can be read as a stand-alone, I recommend reading the series in order so you know who all the characters are. ( )

"You're sweet."
"I don't feel sweet. I feel like the big bad wolf about to eat you up."
"Please, big bad wolf. Eat me up. I want you to."

Is it wrong that I'm hoping to be kidnapped soon? I'd gladly hop in to the back of a windowless van if I knew one of the guys from Black Defense International was coming to my rescue. Well, I might be exaggerating a teeny bit. But, dang these men are so........ manly!!

Tallie Grant had noticed the unnerving man watching her. She just thought it was another person staring at her due to her rare condition. Never, did she think she'd find herself drugged and on the sex-trafficking auction block. Now, if the man that bought her thinks for one minute she'll capitulate, he's got another thing coming. But, is he her captor or her savior?

Brett Wheeler hates this assignment. Sitting among the worst of the worst, watching each of them bid on women like they were cattle at a farm auction. He's just supposed to infiltrate, learn, and report back. But, when SHE is brought out for the bidding, he can't stop himself from crossing the line to win her from the fate he knows she faces. But, someone who lost out wants nothing more than to steal her back. Can Brett keep her safe? Will he be able to save her a second time or will he lose her forever?

This is such a great series!! If you haven't read book one, Black List, grab it now. If you have, then grab book 2!! You won't be sorry! ( )
