( ) Zaha Hadid by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara focuses on the true story of one of Iraq's most inspirational architects. From a young age, Zaha exhibited great creativity. She would go on to found her own architectural firm, and design some of the most impressive buildings of modern day. The end of the book contains a more detailed look at her life, using language suited for much older readers. As with all the books in this series, there's plenty of quirky art to bring it to life for younger readers. ***Many thanks to the Netgalley & Quarto Publishing for providing an egalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. As always this was a well written beginning biography. I love that the series is branching out to names not well known by all such as Zaha Hadid a famous architect who passed away just a few years ago. As always I love the pictures in the back of the real person, and just wish that in this case, they had added a few real pictures of her buildings as well. #BBRC #AtoZ #LitsyAtoZChildrens I adore the Little People, Big Dreams series of juvenile biographies! Age-appropriate language and cutesy drawings give an engaging story of the lives of famous people in a variety of historical areas (the arts, athletics, politics, science, adventure, etc.) This biographical treatment of the life of visionary architect Zaha Hadid did not disappoint. Her life and interests starting in Iraq and later abroad and her significant contributions to the field of architecture are explained in a kid-friendly manner. Her biography is concluded with actual photos of the late Zaha Hadid and a denser timeline/biography for those who wish to explore her life in more depth. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse

"Hadid grew up in Baghdad, Iraq, surrounded by music. She was a curious and confident child who designed her own modernist bedroom at nine years old. As a young woman studying at University in Beirut, she was described as the most outstanding pupil the teacher had ever met. With her ... vision and belief in the power of architecture, she founded her own firm and designed [world-famous] buildings ... including the London 2012 Olympic Aquatic Centre"--Publisher marketing.
