This book begins when Old Bob gets a brown teddy bear for his birthday. A young girl named Emma who attends Old Bob’s birthday party really wants to take the teddy bear with her, but she does not. Eventually she visits Old Bob again and this time she leaves with the teddy bear. They do all kinds of things together such as take a trip to the beach and go shopping. She keeps him for what seems to be a pretty long time. One day, Old Bob visits Emma and asks where the teddy bear is. He finds the teddy bear at the bottom of Emma’s toy chest underneath some other old toys. He decides that he wants the teddy bear back and is pleased when he smells the bear. Readers can see the Old Bob is reminded of Emma and becomes a part of her and the teddy bear’s memories. This was definitely an enjoyable book. As always, I was not disappointed when I saw Niki Daly’s beautiful illustrations. His watercolor pictures definitely added to the story. ( )

Old Bob gives up his teddy bear to this little girl who is spoiled rotten. When she is older she gives it back. The bear is worn out!!! But old Bob wanted the bear to be played with, loved on, and to have all the smells that come with children. Karley and I enjoyed the illustrations. Daly is a great artist! ( )

I liked this book because it shows the love between a grandfather and granddaughter but also the loving spirit of a child. Old Bob never had a bear when he was younger so his wife gets him a bear but Emma realizes he doesn't play or care about the bear like he should. After some time he lets Emma take the bear. She brings him everywhere from the beach to tea parties to the store and even bathed him. Old Bob comes for the bear and realizes how much she loved him and he must now do the same. She made it into the old ber with memories just like he wanted. ( )

This is a great book about an uncle who got a teddy bear for his birthday. However the niece wanted it so she could love it. This book is going to be great for children 4th grade and younger. ( )
