Time is mixed up in this fun story. Why is there a spaceship landing in a cowboy's field in 1869? Can these step-siblings put everyone back where they are supposed to be? A mix of real history and fiction makes this time traveling story a fun and informative book. The only reason I gave this book four stars was because I believe that some children may have trouble skipping from past to present all throughout the story. At times it would take me a few sentences in to realize we were back to the school looking through the history book that is changing details. Included in the back of the book is a lovely untwisting history: some real facts about cowboys and astronauts, credits, a Q & A with the author, and an excerpt from another of his books, Amelia Earhart and the Flying Chariot.
