This book right here? This is the reason Mafia is my go to genre. There is just something about the workings of those that skirt the line of the law. Not everything is black or white. Even though they are criminal they are still honorable and loyal.

I am sad to know this is a standalone. I want the others to get there story. Especially Jonah. However, the author did a phenomenal job tying all the lose ends up so that it could be a standalone. That doesn't mean that I won't wish for it someday.

The details of this story were insane. How ever move and countermove was thought out steps in advance. Kai was the perfect egnima. I fell into the same boat as Riley and continually found myself vacillating in whether I liked him or not. By the end, I would've named a son after him. The character growth and the ability to see what they've been through and what they were thinking was stellar.

I highly recommend this book. One of the best Mafia that I have ever read. ( )
