Sorry to say that I was disappointed in the third installment of the Scottish Dream Trilogy, Dreams of Destiny. Although well written, much of my disappointment stems from the lack of development with the relationship between David (H) and Gwyneth (h). We know that Gwyneth has worshiped David most of her life and that he was in love with her evil cousin Emma for several years. The H/h run into each other when she is going to elope with a man she does not love. David derails her and forces her to travel with him. They have a physical connection all the while heroine is trying to get back to the man she was going to elope with. The H/h have several kissing scenes but you have no idea what has caused David to be lusting after her after all this time. They don't communicate openly at all, until much later in the book, well after consummation of a physical relationship. It took far too long for the hero to admit he had feelings for the heroine.
The rest of the story was much more interesting and involves solving the mystery of Emma's death and the reappearance of several of the characters from the first and second installments. 3/5 stars (
