"Jessica was pregnant and facing divorce when her husband and daughter were killed in a car accident months ago. Left to endure the tragedy and her pregnancy alone, she pulls away from her friends and community instead of leaning on them for care and support. She feels far away from God, lost and floating without an anchor. Then at her grandmother's funeral, Jessica receives a gift--her great-grandfather's Bible--which she relegates to a shelf in her house to gather dust alongside the other remnants of her faith. Ridley has suffered loss too. Disgraced in his job, his career seems to be over for good. He is both bitter and shamed. Adding insult to injury, his girlfriend of more than a year leaves at the first sign of trouble. Ridley retreats to a vacation property owned by his parents to lick his wounds and hide from the press. When he first arrives, he meets Jessica, his closest neighbor in this mountain community. But the last thing he wants is to become involved with her or anyone else in Hope Springs. All he wants is to be left alone. But God doesn't intend to let Ridley and Jessica go on hiding from life, even at its most difficult. Thumbing through the Bible later, seeing notes in both pencil and ink, Jessica begins a journey back to faith and wholeness. And the broken roads they have followed bring Jessica and Ridley to each other as well"--… (mere)

4.5 stars. The first novel in the Legacy of Faith series, Who I Am with You by Robin Lee Hatcher is a heartfelt and deeply affecting Christian romance.

Jessica Mason is withdrawn and grieving the deaths of her husband, Joe and their six year old daughter, Angela. She is also pregnant with her second child and while happy with the impending birth, she is a little leery of becoming a single mother. Although it has been several months since her tragic loss, Jessica is still attempting to come to terms with Joe's shocking revelations just before his death. While she has not lost her faith, Jessica has stopped going to church as she tries to make sense of the death of her beloved daughter and her husband's betrayal. She is close to her mother and after her mom gifts her with her great-grandfather Andrew Henning's bible, will Jessica open her heart to God's healing?

Ridley Chesterfield needs time out of the public eye after he is blamed for leaking sensitive information about the candidate he works for. His parents vacation home in Hope Springs, ID is the perfect place for him to decide his future while performing some odd jobs around the house. After meeting Jessica, Ridley finds himself drawn to her but he also realizes she still needs to mourn her loss. Their tender friendship gradually gives way to love, but are either of them ready for a relationship?

Interspersed with Jessica's and Ridley's lives in the present are passages which detail Andrew Henning's marriage to Helen Greyson. Their married life is just beginning just as the Great Depression begins and their plans for the future are forever altered when Andrew loses his job. Forced to move in with Helen's parents, the couple suffer setbacks and hardships over the next few years. Andrew relies heavily on his faith to get him through many difficulties and although their lives take a completely direction than they envisioned, God's hand always guides them on their path.

Robin Lee Hatcher's Legacy of Faith series is off to a marvelous beginning with this thought-provoking and uplifting romance. Featuring dual storylines, a gentle undercurrent of faith and the healing power of love, Who I Am with You is a captivating novel of forgiveness and new beginnings. Ridley and Jessica are well-rounded characters whose struggles will resonate with readers. Andrew's strong faith and relationship with God are inspiring as he and Helen face many difficulties as they build their life together. I truly enjoyed and highly recommend this wonderful novel to fans of the genre. ( )

I’ll start off by saying that Ridley Chesterfield has got to be the coolest name for a male lead, ever!

Who I Am With You was so warm and gentle, handling a difficult topic with grace. This story was so full of hope and comfort.

I can’t say enough good things about this book! It was sweet. Heartwarming. Heartbreaking. It was filled with grace. Forgiveness. Faith. Hope. Love.

God’s love.

This is the first book I’ve read by Robin Lee Hatcher and her writing is beautiful. I’m instantly a fan!

The start to Robin Lee Hatcher’s new Legacy of Faith series, Who I Am With You captivates with a heartfelt story of brokenness and healing, connecting past and present through contemporary and historical characters.

The lives of Jessica Mason and Ridley Chesterfield have both been touched by scandal and loss. As the two deal with the ramifications of the past and learn how to move forward, they never expected to find each other. Still, their friendship (and then, romance, of course) grows, and their story fills with lessons on trust, forgiveness, and hope—encouraged a bit by the Bible belonging to Jessica’s great-grandfather, Andrew Henning, who had his own story to share.

Who I Am With You is a sweet story. I so enjoyed getting to know these characters, their hurts and pains, their joys and faith, and loved how the two storylines worked together to create an entertaining, uplifting read. I recommend it.

Thanks to Read With Audra, I received a complimentary copy of Who I Am With You and the opportunity to provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own. ( )

I love how the author takes readers on a journey traveling from the depression era to the present. It flows so easily and I had a hard time wanting to leave each time period. I would get so engrossed in the story, I didn't want to travel to the other time period. I did wonder how I would be able to read quickly enough to get back to the other couple. The author sure had me hooked on the characters.

Jessica is trying to deal with a big loss in her life while pregnant. She had a great marriage until her husband shocked her with words she never expected to hear from him. Have you ever had an argument and then the person walked away? That is just what happened to Jessica, only tragedy struck and she finds herself grieving the loss of two very special people. Can she learn to trust again?

Ridley has moved next to Jessica for the summer to get away from the medial. He is hurt and trying to grasp the lies that have been told about him. What would you do if someone was spreading lies about you? Ridley is a very caring person and I liked how he reached out to Jessica with no expectations. Two lonely people dealing with forgiveness and trust will take readers on a journey that touch your heart.

I can't forget to mention Andrew and Helen. We meet them slipping back in time to the depression era. I loved how the author described the time period and how hard it was during that time for people to find work and food. Andrew will be faced with a hard truth that will find him asking for God's help. Andrew was my favorite character in the book because he has such a compassionate heart and forgives easily. He reminds me so much of my grandfather and it made me smile to have that memory of such a great man.

The story is strong in faith and scriptures that helped pull the story together in a beautiful and seamless way. The author writes with eloquence and her characters are very easy to relate to. Its a strong lesson in faith, trust and forgiveness. Everything happens for a reason, and in this story that statement is very true. Four people looking for guidance, forgiveness and happiness. This is one story that you will need to have tissues handy. I loved every minute of the story and hope you will too. Come take a journey and find out if these people will trust God. The title is perfect for this story because it made me think of who I am with my husband. With him beside me I am content, secure and know I am loved unconditionally. He is a great example of being Christ-like.

I received a copy of this book from Read with Audra Blogging Program. The review is my own opinion. ( )
