Written in 2002, this is a strong defense of United States involvement in Afghanistan. Whereas at times it is difficult to swallow the abrasiveness of her writing, I appreciated the balance that this lent to the otherwise entirely leftist discussion of the current war that I have been exposed to at Princeton Seminary. Her argument is much more palatable since she wrote before the U.S. invaded Iraq, a much more questionable military endeavor, one of which I suspect she is a strong supporter.
