Filled with great stories about life in your twenties...it's not always sunshine and roses like some would like us to believe! Some of the stories were still a little too happy...and everything always worked out in the end, but maybe that's good news. It can only get better, right?! ( ) My favourite part of this book was the preface, in which the author postulated that the quarter-life crisis might replace (rather than supplement) the mid-life crisis. Man, I hope she was right! Though I've made it out of my twenties alive, I don't think I've taken enough distance from them not to get down-troden by these memoirs. I suppose the book was a good enough representation for me but I doubt it would do the trick for that many people. This is because it flagrantly lacks in diversity. It gives the impression of a similarity of experience in the twenties but this is deceiving because it represents such a small cross-segment of the population. These are all educated, literate, urban American women (for the most part white). And they essentially all go on to become authors. So it's unsurprising that similar experiences would emerge. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
