The story begins with one lonely puppy, then two, and three, four, then five, and the book finally ends with ten cute little puppies. The book is an emergent reader book but the book can be ideal when students are learning to count to ten as well as for a tool the teacher can use when teaching rhyming words. Some examples of adding in the book are, "Two friendly puppies in the snow, so far from home, so far to go! Only the owl in her hollow tree saw them go by--and then there were three". The number appears on the following page, giving the students time to say the number aloud with the teacher. The book goes on and on with rhyming words and a growing number of puppies. This book is an easy counting book. The setting is winter time with lots of snow. There are few colors because of the snow. The book starts off with one puppy and builds to finding ten. There are other animals that see the puppies. The author has rhyming text to make the counting flow with the story. In the end all ten puppies get cold and find their mother. I thought this was a cute book. I love books with animals and this book had several. I also like books that rhyme. In a classroom, one could do a few different lessons with this book. I would probably give a counting lesson with it and then have the students draw pictures of things they could count. The could count them on their own or exchange with a friend. ingen anmeldelser | tilføj en anmeldelse
