She was cunning enough to keep an enormous secret from me for my whole life. Loyal to a fault, handy in a tight spot, and totally fine with shooting people. Penny's mother is a nightmare if you're going to live with her. She keeps track of her daughter's whereabouts, and she always does something crazy that makes her neighbours approached Penny and reproached her about her mother's actions. But as the story unfolds, that woman is crazy scary yet loving when you realised the truth behind her protectiveness towards Penny. Emery has demons to fight. He's avenging for his brother's death. Someone from the mage guild has put an order to kill Emery's brother and wants to know who and why. But he met Penny one day while she's working and they felt the connection when he accidentally touched her hand. Cannot wait for more of their journey.
