Dinosaurs (Random House pictureback series) (original 1977; udgave 1977)

This is an old work so not one I'd recommend as a purchase. New discoveries have changed our understanding of dinosaurs, their environments, and the other creatures that lived in the same periods.

That stated, the drawings are interesting, and the light, thin size makes it easy for a young reader to hold. ( )

This story discusses the early history of dinosaurs, when they originated, and what types of dinosaurs there were. it begins with introducing the history of fossils and what types of fossils came from certain types of dinosaurs. The book presented different pictures between allosaurus footprint pictures and leaf fossil pictures. It then begins to go into the ancestry of dinosaurs and which ones originated before others. I think this is a good story children between the ages of 6-11 because not only does it have efficient information on the pages, but it incorporates helpful pictures for students who may not know much about them. This book begins with an explanation about fossils and dinosaur research, and then gives short explanations about a variety of different dinosaurs. ( )
