I picked up a copy of this book after the author was thanked in the author’s note of Iron Widow - so glad I did! This was a fast paced read with another femme main character that challenges her own lines of morality. This could be a tough read at points as there are some detailed moments of torture by a creature. I finished this one in just a few hours and picked up the second book later that day!

The ending twist has had me thinking about this book for weeks after I finished it! (

Honestly, I actually prefer the webtoon to the book so far.

Is this just because the book missed my favourite line from the webtoon? Very possible. (

This book is for those who love gore. The fantasy world was disturbing and dark with black markets for magical body parts. I liked the world and the questionable morals of the characters within. It really was an exploration of what constitutes a monster, those who have inherently ‘evil’ instincts due to their fundamental makeup, or those who choose to act like monsters. However the book was a bit thin on plot. Nita gets caught. Nita tries to escape. I would have liked to see some of the other ideas fleshed out a bit more (see what I did there?) but I am assuming the more interesting plot-lines will be developed in the next book. I look forward to seeing where this gruesome tale takes me next. (

Interesting idea and good writing but man does the plot replay itself like 3 times and it gets kinda boring in the last third (
