Ingen Der er ingen diskussionstråde på Snak om denne bog. Awesome story about deciding to be who you are, despite what everyone else thinks. I loved Ethan and Jamie and the sibling John and Julia. Great family dynamics (except for the jerks out there...lol). Really enjoyed the style of writing as well as the way the story was told. Beautiful. Would love more of Ethan and Jamie. ( ![]() I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had both the love story, as well as a mystery/action portion that helped propel the romance forward. What I liked about it was the lack of angst. I did not have to spend chapters and chapters as they fight their attraction and try to leave to protect the other. I look forward to reading other books by this author. This didn't work for me. James was too perfect and became almost a housewife to me (not that I'm judging housewives but it doesn't seem like a 21 y/o ranch manager should be all about cooking & cleaning all the time unless it's an odd quirk & it was not explained that way). Ethan gave in too easily to what he wanted from James and went from closeted to proud much too easily. I have never lived on a ranch and I don’t read that many books set on ranches because cowboys aren’t generally my thing but this ranch would have gone under almost immediately based on the things I have read. Ranchers don’t get up late because they were out late the night before or they didn’t sleep well, they don’t wander off on a whim, ranches take a lot of work. There seemed to be no sense of urgency about running the place and I guess the animals could take care of themselves because no one was getting up to feed them. Perhaps I was supposed to assume this was all being taken care of but if the ranch was such an important part of the story then it should have been researched a bit more. The villains were not just bad guys or jerks they were villains, like skulking in the dark corners in B movies villains, including James' father. And then there were all the people that were inexplicably accepting of the relationship. There were no in-betweens, either they were HATED or they were LOVED, people don't, in my experience, fall that narrowly into those 2 categories especially in large groups. I did like the characters mostly even if they were a little too unrealistic for me. I realize it sounds like I hated this book but I honestly didn’t. I didn’t love it and I wouldn’t read it again but it was enjoyable in a suspend your disbelief sort of way. Simple, cute, kind of predictable, sex scenes a little too many (and kind of repetitive too). Still, I was expecting a fun and light read and I got it. So exhausted with all the intense plots and so much angst that I've been reading the past week, so I could have not read this at a more perfect time or I must have found this one boring. Ethan Whitehall is perfection. Like a perfect Christian Grey—just the right amount of being perfectly understanding, sizzling hot, unlimited funds, extreme loyalty and faithfulness, and no BDSM bullshiz and no hangups. Just refreshingly perfect. Simple, cute, kind of predictable, sex scenes a little too many (and kind of repetitive too). Still, I was expecting a fun and light read and I got it.
