Still, the old folk of Chinatown are trying to hold on to their dearest traditions. Then, in a mysterious incident, the Don of Chinatown is conked on the head and taken out of commission. It's up to our intrepid sleuths, Nick, Amy, John and Wiggins to find the culprit. After all, the victim is Amy and John's uncle, Tangy Win. In a mad dash, with the help of Old Friend Cane and its unusual properties, we encounter a kaleidoscopic host of characters from both the past and the present; some familiar from The Jade Owl Legacy Series and new ones, including a narcissistic real estate tycoon manipulating from his high tower overlooking the bay. This second Nick Firestone mystery finds our twenty-somethings tangling with a frustrating puzzle in a techno world which is outpacing humanity.
