Louisa Clark arrives in New York ready to start a new life, confident that she can embrace this new adventure and keep her relationship with Ambulance Sam alive across several thousand miles. She is thrown into the world of the superrich Gopniks: Leonard and his much younger second wife, Agnes, and a never-ending array of household staff and hangers-on. Lou is determined to get the most out of the experience and throws herself into her job and New York life within this privileged world. Before she knows what's happening, Lou is mixing in New York high society, where she meets Joshua Ryan, a man who brings with him a whisper of her past. In Still Me, as Lou tries to keep the two sides of her world together, she finds herself carrying secrets--not all her own--that cause a catastrophic change in her circumstances. And when matters come to a head, she has to ask herself Who is Louisa Clark? And how do you reconcile a heart that lives in two places?… (mere)

'Still Me' is the finale of to 'Me Before You' trilogy. The first book took the world with sensation, and I was one of the many people who gave 5-stars, while the second of the series, in my opinion, was ok. The truth is I remember the plot of the first book while reading the third 'Still Me.' I had forgotten the premise of 'After you.'
In 'Still Me,' Louisa, the main character, decides that she has to find herself and decides to do it on the other side of the Atlantic ocean with the blessing of her family and Sam, her boyfriend.
Lou realizes that your closest people around you continue with their lives while she is figuring out what she is going to do with hers. The whole process is a lonely one.
Through her journey to find herself and who she wants to be, she meets unique people who are showing and helping Lou find her potential and her way.
It has been a couple of years since I was in New York, and while reading the book, I lived in New York with Lou. I am happy to end she needs a good closure.
I am happy that Moyes has so many backlist books I can read because I like her writing. I am looking forward to reading 'The Giver of Stars' in the following months, as it is part of my physical TBR. ( )

Ohhh, Lou. How I love you.

What a great ending to a heart-warming series. I loved the new and old characters, NYC as the setting, and Lou's ferocious hunger for adventure.

Loved every minute. Hoping the rest of this series hits the big screen! ( )

You know you are in safe hands with Jojo Moyes and that the novel will have ups and downs, fun times and unhappy times but ultimately things will come good. If you enjoyed others, you will like this novel that takes Louisa to New York and many new adventures. The novel is full of some fantastic and memorable characters. ( )

3.5 - trending up. Louisa Clark is in NY, leaving her hunky paramedic Sam behind to pursue her dreams and live her life on Will Traynor's terms -- boldly. Will's trainer, Aussie Nathan has procured a spot for Lou with a wealthy 5th Ave. couple, The Gopniks. Louisa is to be Agnes (the 2nd Mrs.) Gopnik's personal asst. and as Louisa soon realizes, her only friend, confidant and ultimately, patsy. To say the family is dsyfunctional is generous --Agnes is a Polish immigrant masseuse who doesn't fit in well with the NYC society. Leonard is an older work-a-holic who loves his new wife but insists she conforms to the standards he is used to. Unhappiness prevails and Louisa tries to remedy it, but is finally fired when too many of Agnes' secrets weigh her down and Agnes lets her take the fall. Meanwhile, long-distance love with Sam is touchy and has shades of Bridget Jones in the mishaps and misunderstandings they undergo. She has a brief romance with a NYC boy Josh, but he is too concerned with appearances to embrace her bumblebee tights and other lack of inhibitions. When Louisa is fired by the Gopniks, her friendship with the doorman Ashok and his family and cranky elderly Mrs. DeWitt and her pugly Dean Martin rescue her from NY hostels or return to England. Louisa's goodness prevails and good things come her way in the form of a vintage clothing business, landing on her feet and true love. Threequels probably should be avoided, and this gets a little sappy/formulaic, but it was still a feel-good read that caused me to shed a tear or two so that deserves props. ( )

It was the mustache that reminded me I was no longer in England: a solid, gray millipede firmly obscuring the man's upper lip; a Village People mustache, a cowboy mustache, the miniature head of a broom that meant business.

I thought about the fact that there seemed to be such a high cost to anything a woman chose to do with her life, unless she simply aimed low.
There is a great consolation in simply doing something you love.
