This book talks about what a biome is and how the plants and animals in a biome depend on one another for survival. It discusses the vocabulary words like energy, herbivore, carnivore, nutrients, etc. It then depicts and describes what climate is. It discusses tropical biomes, polar areas, and temperate zones. It describes how animals address to the different climates and biomes they live in. Every biome it describes it has pictures of the different flora and fauna that live there. At the end of the book it has a words to know section and an index. I could use this book in my classroom when students learn about animal adaptations or about the different biomes of the earth.

This book provides an overview of biomes. It describes their locations, various climates, and the plants and animals. I will use this book during our "living things" unit of study in both science and reading class. For reading, I will share this book with groups 1 and 4 during small group centers. During science, the two groups will discuss the book and create a poster of their learning to present to the class. ( )
